To configure your notification settings

1. Open WhatsApp Web/Desktop.
2. Click Menu ( or ) at the top of the chat list.
3. Click Settings.

4. Click Notifications . Here you can:

   • Turn on Sounds, Desktop Alerts and Show Previews on or off.
   • Turn off all chat alerts and sounds for a certain amount of time. To turn notifications back on, click on Alerts and sounds off. Click to restore. ( or ) at the top of the chat list.

To mute individual chats or groups

1. Click on an individual chat or group.
2. Click Menu .
3. Click Mute, then select the preferred amount of time > MUTE.

To turn notifications back on, find the muted chat and click Menu > Cancel mute.

Note: If you mute an individual chat or group on your phone, it'll also be muted on WhatsApp Web/Desktop. All other notification settings are independent of your phone and computer and don't affect one another.
