How to create and maintain a catalog

An updated catalog makes it easier for your customers to interact with your business. It also helps showcase your new products and services.

Add a product or service

To add a product or service to your catalog:

  1. Open the WhatsApp Business app.
  2. Click More | at the top of your chatlist > Catalog.
  3. Click Add new item.
  4. Click Add Images to upload images from your files. You can upload up to 10 images.
  5. Provide a product or service name. You can also provide optional details such as price, description, link and item code for the uploaded product.
  6. Click ADD TO CATALOG to add the product to your catalog.

Control what products or services customers can see

Note: This feature may not be available to you yet.

Hide catalog items
  1. Open the WhatsApp Business app.
  2. Click More | at the top of your chatlist > Catalog.
  3. Click the product or service you want to hide > Edit.
  4. Select Hide item.
  5. Click Save.

Alternatively, hover your mouse over the item on the Catalog screen. Then, click More | > Hide item.

Hidden items will still appear in your catalog manager with over the item image. If you open the product detail page, you’ll also see a note indicating that you’ve hidden this item.

Unhide catalog items
  1. Open the WhatsApp Business app.
  2. Click More | at the top of your chatlist > Catalog.
  3. Click the product or service you want to unhide > Edit.
  4. Unselect Hide item.
  5. Click Save.

Alternatively, hover your mouse over the item on the Catalog screen. Then, click More | > Show item.

Delete a product or service

To delete a product or service from your catalog:

  1. Open the WhatsApp Business app.
  2. Click More | at the top of your chatlist > Catalog.
  3. Select the product or service you wish to delete.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the product detail section.
  5. Click on Delete Item.
  6. Click on OK.

Note : Every image uploaded to catalog is subject to a review. The review helps confirm that the image, product or service meets the WhatsApp Commerce Policy.

If a product or service in your catalog is rejected, a red exclamation icon will be displayed next to the image. If you feel this isn’t correct and you’d would like to request another review:

  • Select the rejected product or service to view Details.
  • Click request another review.
    • Click LEARN MORE to review our Commerce Policy.
  • Enter the reason for the request in the text field.
  • Click Continue.
Note: If your WhatsApp Business account is linked to a Facebook shop and you’ve turned on WhatsApp as a sales channel, your WhatsApp catalog is replaced by your Facebook shop by default. This won’t delete or change your WhatsApp catalog, but you and your customers won’t see it. You can revert back to your WhatApp catalog at any point by turning off or hiding WhatsApp as a sales channel. Learn how to manage your sales channels in Commerce Manager in this article.
