If you aren't receiving notifications on WhatsApp for web, make sure your browser is properly configured:

• Turn on notifications.
• Unblock notifications.

To turn on notifications

1. Click Turn on desktop notifications in the blue banner at the top of the chat list.

   

2. Follow the instructions on the screen and click Allow.

If you don't see the blue banner, refresh the page. If you still don't see the banner, you may have muted or turned off notifications from WhatsApp settings. Learn how to configure your notification settings in this article.

To unblock notifications

1. In Opera, go to Preferences (Mac) or Settings (Windows) > Websites.
2. Under Notifications, select Ask me when a site wants to show desktop notifications and click Manage Exceptions.
3. If https://web.whatsapp.com is set to Block, highlight it and click the X.
4. Go back to WhatsApp Web and refresh the page. You should now see the blue banner at the top of the chat list.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen and click Allow.
