Deleting contacts
WhatsApp quickly and easily recognizes which of your contacts are using WhatsApp by accessing your phone's address book. To delete a contact, simply delete their phone number from your phone's address book:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats tab.
- Tap the new chat
icon > Find the contact and tap it > Tap the contact's name at the top.
- Tap Edit > Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Contact.
Deleting a contact from your phone's address book won't delete the chat history you have with them. You can find out how to delete a chat in this article.
