By default, any group participants can change the icon, subject, description or send messages. However, a group admin can change the group settings to allow only admins to edit the group info or send messages.

To change the group icon:

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info.
   • Alternatively, select the group in your chats list. Then press Options > Group info.
2. Select the group icon, then press Options.
3. Press Choose photo and select from Camera or Gallery to add an image.
4. Press Done.

To change the group subject:

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info.
   • Alternatively, select the group in your chats list. Then press Options > Group info.
2. Select the group subject, then press Edit.
3. Enter a new subject, then press Save.
   • The subject limit is 25 characters.

To change the group description:

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info.
   • Alternatively, select the group in your chats list. Then press Options > Group info.
2. Select the group description, then press Edit.
3. Enter a new description, then press Save.
