To stop incoming media from saving to your Photos

To stop media from being saved to your Photos, go to WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > turn off Save to Camera Roll.

Note: Changing this setting will not affect any previous autodownload choices you have made for specific chats or groups as described below.

To save incoming media from specific chats or groups

You can also choose to save incoming media from specific chats or groups. Tap your contact's or group's name to open the Contact Info or Group Info screen, where you can change the Save to Camera Roll setting to your liking:

• Default (On/Off): Incoming media will or won't be saved according to what you've set in WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Save to Camera Roll.
• Always: All incoming media is saved regardless of your Save to Camera Roll setting.
• Never: All incoming media isn't saved regardless of your Save to Camera Roll setting.
