If you're experiencing issues with your email account, Microsoft account, password, downloading or updating WhatsApp from the Microsoft Store, please contact Microsoft Support.
WhatsApp identifies you with your phone number, not your email account. WhatsApp doesn't require a password or an email account, however logging into the Microsoft Store does.
These are the two most common issues when updating WhatsApp from the Microsoft Store:
If you receive an error code when trying to download WhatsApp, it's from the Microsoft Store and not WhatsApp.
If you see "Attention Required" or "Waiting for Wi-Fi" when trying to download WhatsApp, please refer to the settings of the Microsoft Store App. Open Microsoft Store > tap the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner > Settings > App updates and adjust your settings here.
Microsoft controls the process for all Windows Phone apps, and we don't have access from our end to resolve any Microsoft Store related issues. You can get troubleshooting steps from the Microsoft Support website.
If you still can't download or update after trying a couple of times, please contact Windows Phone support.
