WhatsApp quickly and easily recognizes which of your contacts are using WhatsApp by accessing your phone's address book. To delete a contact, simply delete their phone number from your phone's address book:

1. Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats tab.
2. Tap the new chat icon > Tap the contact > Tap the name at the top of the chat screen.
3. Tap Edit > Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Contact Info screen, then tap Delete Contact.

Deleting a contact from your Contacts app will not delete any chat history you have with that contact.
