Controls When Messaging Businesses

You are in control when you message with a business on WhatsApp. It’s up to you whether or not you share your number with a business, and you can block a business at any time. WhatsApp will not give your number to a business, and our policies prohibit businesses from contacting you on WhatsApp without first receiving your approval to do so.

Block or report a business

When you receive a message from a business for the first time, we will provide you with the option to block or report the business in case you don’t want to hear from them again. And at any point during a conversation with a business, you can block or report it from its profile.
When you block a business account, you can also tell us why, such as because you no longer need to message that business or you didn’t sign up to receive messages from them. We may also use this block and report information to take action on an account or limit the messages it can send.

Share message feedback

You also have the option to provide feedback on the individual chats businesses send you.
To share feedback:
  1. Open WhatsApp.
  2. Then, open your chat with the business.
  3. Tap and hold the message you’d like to review.
  4. Tap Rate on Android. On iPhone, tap More > Rate.
  5. Select a number of stars to rate the message.
  6. Tap Submit.
WhatsApp uses feedback to provide the best experience on our service. We may also use this feedback to ensure the safe and secure use of WhatsApp by detecting spam and limiting other bad experiences.Your feedback is anonymous to the business, which means the business can't see who provided it. WhatsApp doesn’t see the content of your messages with businesses.
