Can’t connect to WhatsApp

If you’re unable to send or receive messages on WhatsApp, you might not have an internet connection. To check your device’s internet connection:
- See if there's a clock icon next to your messages instead of a check mark. If you see a clock icon, it means your messages aren't getting delivered.
- Check the network signal on your device to see if it's blinking or empty.
Troubleshooting
Most connection issues can be resolved by doing one or more of the following:
Device settings
- Restart your device by turning it off and back on.
- Update WhatsApp to the latest version available from the Apple App Store.
- Open iPhone Settings and turn Airplane Mode on and off.
- Open iPhone Settings > Cellular > turn Cellular Data on.
- Open iPhone Settings > Wi-Fi > turn Wi-Fi off and on
- Upgrade or restore your iPhone's operating system to the latest version for your device.
- If you're using an unlocked iPhone or a prepaid SIM card, you might need to adjust your device's APN settings for your SIM card. Contact your mobile carrier for details and instructions.
- Turn off roaming.
- WhatsApp isn't designed to be used with VPN services. We don’t support these configurations.
Wi-Fi settings
- Open your device's Settings > Connections > turn Wi-Fi off and on.
- Try connecting to different Wi-Fi hotspots.
- Make sure Wi-Fi stays on during Sleep Focus.
- Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
- Contact your mobile provider and make sure your APN settings are configured correctly.
- Open iPhone Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Enter your passcode. Select Reset Network Settings. (This will delete all your saved Wi-Fi passwords).
- If you're having trouble connecting to WhatsApp while on a Wi-Fi network that you don't normally connect to, contact the network administrator.
- Make sure your connection isn't on a managed Wi-Fi network, such as at your office or university campus. Your network might be configured to block or limit connections.
