How to add and remove group members

You can add or remove group members if you’re a group admin. Admins can also decide if they want to keep their groups open for anyone on WhatsApp to join, or require admin approval for any new members who want to join. A group can have up to 1024 members.
Add members
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the Chats tab. Then, tap > Group info.

- Tap Add or Invite via Link.
- Search for or select contacts to add to the group.
- Tap .
- If the group has Approve New Members turned on, and there are pending requests to join the group, an admin can review these requests.
Remove members
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the Chats tab. Then, tap > Group info.

- Tap the member you want to remove.
- Tap Remove {member} > OK.
