About phone number hiding

For additional privacy and safety in communities, your phone number is only visible to:
  • Community admins.
  • People who have your number saved in their contacts.
All other members won’t see your full phone number when you react or reply to announcements in the community Announcement group. If you’re not an admin of the community, your full phone number will be hidden from other community members who don’t have your details saved as a contact in their address book.
For example, your phone number will appear as +91 98XXXXXXXX99 to other members.
Community admins can see community members’ full phone numbers.
Note:
  • WhatsApp users who you've saved as a contact or who you have been in a chat or group with can see your full phone number.
  • Community members can see community admin phone numbers.
  • Only the country code and last two digits of your phone number are visible to people who can’t see your full phone number.
