If you received the in-app message “Your account is restricted right now,” it means that recent activity on your account might be showing signs of engaging in spam, automated, or bulk messaging, which violates our Terms of Service. When your account is restricted, you can continue to communicate with contacts and groups you've exchanged chats or calls with previously. However, you can’t start chats or calls with new contacts, create new groups, or use companion devices.
You don’t need to take any action to remove the account restriction. The restriction automatically ends once the allocated time passes and you’ll receive a notification in WhatsApp when it ends. Any user engaging in spam, automated, or bulk messaging could have their account banned. Learn how to use WhatsApp responsibly in this article.
