How to mute or unmute group notifications

You can mute group chat notifications for a specified period of time. You'll still receive messages sent to the group, but won’t be notified.
Mute group notifications
  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the group chat, then click the group subject.
  2. Select the Mute box.
  3. Select the length of time you'd like to mute notifications for.
  4. Click MUTE NOTIFICATIONS.
Alternatively:
  • In your Chats lists, hover over the group and click Menu
    > Mute notifications. Select the length of time you'd like to mute notifications > Mute.
Or
  • Open the group chat and click Menu
    > Mute notifications. Select the length of time you'd like to mute notifications > Mute.
Unmute group notifications
  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the group chat, then click the group subject.
  2. Uncheck the Muted box.
  3. Click UNMUTE.
