How to mute or unmute individual or group chat notifications

You can mute individual or group chat calls and messages for a specified period of time. You'll still receive messages, but your device won't vibrate or make noise to notify you.

Mute group notifications

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the group chat, then click the group subject.
  2. Under Mute notifications select the length of time you'd like to mute notifications for.

Unmute group notifications

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the group chat, then click the group subject.
  2. Under Mute notifications click Muted > Unmute.
