How to use call waiting

Android
iOS
If someone calls you on WhatsApp while you’re already on a WhatsApp voice or video call, you’ll receive a notification. You can choose to either answer or decline the call. This won’t interrupt your existing call.
You can also choose to silence calls from unknown callers in settings. You’ll still see silenced calls from unknown callers in the Calls tab and in Notifications, but your phone won’t ring.

If someone calls you on WhatsApp

You can either:
  • End & Accept: End the call you’re currently on and accept the incoming call, or
  • Decline: Decline the incoming call and remain on the current call.

If someone calls you from outside of WhatsApp

If someone calls outside of WhatsApp during your WhatsApp voice or video call, you can tap:
  • End & Accept: End the call you’re currently on and accept the incoming call.
  • Decline: Decline the incoming call and remain on the current call.
Note:
  • Carrier charges may apply for calls made outside of WhatsApp.
  • Charges may also apply for WhatsApp voice and video calls while roaming, or if you exceed your data limit.
  • If you don't want to receive calls from a specific contact, you can block them. You can also silence calls from unknown callers.
