How to apply to the WhatsApp Business directory
WhatsApp is helping business to be discovered by new customers through the WhatsApp Business directory. For businesses using the WhatsApp Business app, you can increase the visibility for your business by applying to the directory.
Businesses must apply to be included in the Business directory and must comply with all applicable terms and policies, including the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the WhatsApp Commerce Policy.
The WhatsApp Business directory is currently only available in Brazil and may not be available in your area yet.
Apply to the WhatApp Business directory
You can find the Business directory in the Business tools menu.
- From the Chats screen, tap More options > Business tools > Business directory.
- Follow the steps to complete your application.
Businesses can update their location and coverage area in the business profile. Please note that WhatsApp Business uses Google as a third party service provider and therefore the location data will be shared with Google.
Once your application is reviewed, you’ll receive a WhatsApp notification confirming if your business has been added to the directory, if more information is required, or if your application wasn’t approved. Once approved, the business information shared by you will be visible to all users.
If an account is determined to violate the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and/or the WhatsApp Commerce Policy, your application to the Business directory will be rejected and the business account will be actioned as per the current applicable policies. You will receive a message informing you of this decision and will have the ability to appeal through the appeal process.
Withdraw application from the WhatApp Business directory
To withdraw your application, go to the Chats screen and tap More options > Business tools > Business directory > More options > Remove from directory.
