How to start a chat with AIs from Meta

Note:
  • This feature is currently only available in limited countries and might not be available to you yet, even if other users in your country have access.
  • At this time, only English, Arabic, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese are supported.
You can chat with Meta AI or choose from other characters with their own personalities and interests to make your conversations on WhatsApp more productive and enjoyable. Meta AI and other characters are optional services.
When you chat with AIs you can:
  • Ask questions
  • Receive helpful recommendations
  • Talk about interests
Messages from Meta AI and other characters are generated by artificial intelligence (AI), using a service from Meta, in response to the prompts and messages you send to the AI.

Chat with AI

  1. Tap
    new chat
    .
  2. Tap Chat with AIs.
  3. If prompted, read and accept the terms.
  4. Select Meta AI or another character.
  5. Select a suggested prompt or type your own.
  6. Tap
    send prompt
    or
    ai send
    .
Alternatively, you can start a chat with Meta AI from the Chats tab by tapping
meta ai
.
When chatting with an AI, you might see suggested prompts. To select and send one, tap
send prompt
.

Additional features

When you tap an AI character's name, you can also:
  • Learn more about the AI character.
  • Share the AI character with others so they can start their own conversations.
  • Search for a message that an AI character sent in the chat.

Provide feedback

You can provide feedback to Meta about responses from Meta AI and other characters.
  1. Tap and hold the AI message you’d like to provide feedback on.
  2. Tap Good Response or Bad Response.

      thumbs up
      or
      thumbs down
      .
  3. If prompted, add a reason, then tap Submit.
Note:
  • Meta uses AI chats consistent with Meta's Privacy Policy. By using this feature, you agree to Meta's AI Terms of Service.
  • You have the option to delete individual chats with AIs or request the deletion of information you previously shared with Meta AI. Learn more in this article.
  • Some messages generated by AIs might not be accurate or appropriate.
