Web and Desktop
The request account information feature allows you to submit a request for and export a channels report to see information related to your activity and use on WhatsApp channels.
The channels report will include information like:
- A list of channels you follow
- Your notification setting for each (muted or unmuted)
- Your interactions with channels, such as reactions
For any channels where you’re an admin, you’ll get information about your channel and updates like:
- Channel information, like name, description, and icon for channels
- Number of followers
- Verification status to show whether your channel is verified or not
- Public updates shared in the past 30 days
Request report
- Go to WhatsApp Settings > click Request account info.
- Under Channels activity, click Request Channels report. The screen will update to state Request sent.
Your channels report will typically be available three days after the date you requested it. You can refer to the Ready by date while waiting for your report.
Note:
- Once you request a channels report, you can’t undo or cancel your pending request.
- If you change your phone number or delete your account, your pending request will be voided and you’ll have to request another report.
- Your channels report does not include your account information and settings. To access your account information and settings, you can request a copy of your account report. Learn how to request your account information in this article.
Download and export report
When the channels report is available to download, you'll receive a WhatsApp notification on your phone, stating “Your Channels report is now available”. The Request channel report screen in WhatsApp will tell you the amount of time you have to download the report before it’s deleted from our servers. Because this report contains your information, you should be careful about storing, sending, or uploading it to any other services.
- Go to WhatsApp Settings > click Request account info.
- Click Download report. A ZIP file will be downloaded to your computer, which includes HTML and JSON files.
- Once the file is downloaded, click Export Channels report > Export Channels report. You'll be unable to view the downloaded report within WhatsApp.
- In the share tray that appears, click the external app you want to export your channels report to. For example, you can email a copy of the report to yourself.
After you download the channels report to your phone, you'll have the option to permanently delete the downloaded copy from your computer by clicking Delete report > Delete report on the Request account info screen. Deleting the report won't delete any of your information relating to your activity and use of channels.
