We’re building and testing out new features, like Status Mentions, and they may not be available to you yet. In the meantime, we recommend keeping WhatsApp updated on your device so you can get the feature as soon as it's available.
You can use WhatsApp Status to share photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.
You can choose who can see your status by adding them to your status audience or mentioning them.

- Click > My Status > Text.
- Type your status update.
- Click to change the font.
- Click to change the background color.
- Click to add an emoji.
- Click Status (Contacts) to customize your audience.
- Click to share your status.
- Click > My Status > Photos & videos.
- Select a photo from your device.
- Click Add a caption to caption your photo.
- Click to add text. You can adjust color, font, size, layout, and add a background.
- Click to add an emoji.
- Click to add a sticker.
- Click to draw. You can adjust the color and line size.
- Click to blur.
- Click to crop or rotate.
- Click Status (Contacts) to customize your audience.
- Click to share your status.
Note:
- HD media isn’t supported for status updates.
- The quality of media, such as images, GIFs, videos, and pictures uploaded into WhatsApp Status may be lower than the original version.
- Upload high quality images to status to prevent low quality photos.
- Click > My Status > Photos & videos.
- Select a video from your device.
- Click Add a caption to caption your video.
- Click to add an emoji to your caption.
- Click Status (Contacts) to customize your audience.
- Click to share your status.
Note: WhatsApp supports 3GP and MPEG-4 video formats.

- Click > My status.
- While the status is displayed, click .
People who like your status will be marked with a green heart.
