How to use stickers

Send stickers

To send a sticker:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    emoji
    >
    stickers
    .
  3. Tap the sticker you want to send.
To send an avatar sticker:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    emoji
    then the picture of your avatar.
  3. Tap an avatar sticker to send it.
Note: Avatar stickers can be static, or both static and animated, depending on your device.

Discover and manage sticker packs

A number of suggested sticker packs from the WhatsApp Sticker Store are shown underneath any downloaded packs. You can tap any of these stickers to send them, or tap
sticker
to view the whole pack.
To find more sticker packs:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    emoji
    >
    stickers
    >
    sticker
    .
  3. Tap
    android-add-sticker-pack
    next to the sticker pack you want to download.
  4. green check mark
    will appear once the download is complete.
  5. Tap
    back
    .
To find stickers in the Google Play Store:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    sticker
    .
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the All stickers tab.
  4. Tap Discover sticker apps.
Note: Stickers downloaded outside of WhatsApp might not be searchable if the creator didn’t follow WhatsApp guidelines when tagging them.
To view, reorder and remove sticker packs you’ve downloaded:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    sticker
    .
  3. Tap My stickers.
  4. Tap and hold
    reorder
    to rearrange sticker packs.
  5. Tap
    delete
    to remove a sticker pack.

Search for stickers

Open an individual or group chat. To find specific stickers you’ve downloaded or discover new ones, tap
search
and search for stickers using text or emoji.
  • Under My stickers you’ll see stickers you’ve downloaded.
  • Under More stickers you’ll see stickers available to download from WhatsApp and third-party providers (such as GIPHY). Note: Online sources will use search terms to find relevant results.

Create custom stickers

To create a custom sticker:
  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap
    emoji
    >
    stickers
    .
  3. Tap
    stickers
    > Use a photo.
  4. Select a photo from your device's gallery.
  5. On the preview screen, choose from one of the preset options, then:
    • Tap
      stickers
      to add a sticker or emoji to your sticker.
    • Tap
      stickers
      to add text to your sticker.
    • Tap
      stickers
      to draw on your sticker.
  6. Tap
    stickers
    to send your sticker.

Organize your stickers

To move a sticker to the top of a category (for example, Favorites):
  1. Tap and hold the sticker you want to move.
  2. Tap
    stickers
    . Note: This will also move the sticker to the top of Recent.
To delete stickers from Favorites, tap and hold the sticker you want to delete and tap Remove from Favorites. Note: Tapping Remove from Recent doesn't delete the sticker, it will just no longer appear under Recent.

Update your sticker packs

A green dot next to a sticker pack means that it can be updated.
  1. Tap
    add
    .
  2. In the All stickers tab, tap Update next to the sticker pack.
  3. green check mark
    will appear once the update is complete.
