How to manage group admins

A group can have an unlimited number of admins, and any admin can make a participant an admin. The creator of a group can't be removed and will remain an admin unless they exit the group.
Note: WhatsApp can’t interfere with group administration functions. For example, we can't make someone an admin.
Make a participant an admin
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options
- Tap the participant you want to make an admin.
- Tap Make group admin.
Make multiple participants admins at the same time
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options
- Tap Group settings > Edit group admins.
- Select the participants you want to make admins.
- Tap the green check mark when you're finished.
Dismiss an admin
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options
- Tap the admin you want to dismiss.
- Tap Dismiss as admin.
Dismiss multiple admins at the same time
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options
- Tap Group settings > Edit group admins.
- Uncheck the admins you want to dismiss.
- Tap the green check mark when you're finished.
