Can’t create or restore Google Account backup

If you can't create a Google Account backup, check if:
  • A Google Account is activated on your device.
  • Google Play services is installed on your device.
  • There’s enough free space on your device to create the backup.
  • There’s enough free space in your Google Account. You can see how much storage you’re currently using and review storage options here.
  • You have a strong and stable internet connection.
If you can’t restore a Google Account backup, check if:
  • You’re using the same phone number and Google Account that the backup was created on.
  • If you’re restoring an end-to-end encrypted backup, you’re using the correct password or key.
  • There's enough space on your device to restore the backup.
  • Your device’s battery is fully charged or plugged into a power source.
  • A Google Account is activated on your device.
  • Google Play services is installed on your device.
  • Your device has a strong and stable internet connection. If restoring using a cellular data network doesn't work, try using Wi-Fi.
