What’s changing


We’re updating our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to reflect that from April 27, 2023, WhatsApp LLC will replace WhatsApp Ireland Limited as the service provider and controller for UK users. This change follows the UK’s departure from the European Union.
WhatsApp LLC in the US continues to be the service provider for users outside the European region.

What’s staying the same

  • There will be no change to the services you receive.
  • Your data will still be protected in accordance with UK privacy and data protection laws.
  • As always, your personal messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted. No one else, not even WhatsApp or Meta, can read or listen to them.
