Edit a contact

WhatsApp contact names come from your address book, so you'll have to edit them here.
To edit a contact:
  1. Open your phone’s address book.
  2. Tap the contact you want to edit.
  3. Tap Edit.
If you have multiple entries for a single contact, your phone might let you merge them.
Note: WhatsApp users set their own profile name and photo, so if a contact didn't set a profile photo, there's no way you can add one for that contact. Instead, you'll see an empty white profile on a gray background. In older versions of WhatsApp, the photo associated with that contact from your phone's address book would be displayed.
