How to change group admin settings

All group participants can send messages and change group information including the group subject, icon, or description. However, a group admin can change group settings so that only admins can edit group info or send messages.
Change group info settings
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the Chats tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.

- Tap Group settings > Edit group settings.
- Choose to allow All participants or Only admins to edit the group info.
- Tap OK.
Change group message settings
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.

- Tap Group settings > Send messages.
- Choose to allow All participants or Only admins to send messages.
- Tap OK.
Participants can message an admin directly by tapping admins in the group, then tapping the admin’s name.
Change group join permissions
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
- Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the Chats tab. Then, tap More options> Group info.
- Tap Group settings.
- Choose to turn on Approve new participants.
- When turned on, admins must approve anyone who wants to join the group.
- When turned off, this group is open for people to join without admin approval.
- Tap OK.
