How to change group admin settings

All group participants can send messages and change group information including the group subject, icon, or description. However, a group admin can change group settings so that only admins can edit group info or send messages.
Change group info settings
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then click the group subject.
- Alternatively, click Menu (or) in the top corner > Group info.
- Alternatively, click Menu (
- Click Group Settings > Edit group info.
- Choose to allow All participants or Only admins to edit the group info.
- Click CONFIRM.
Change group message settings
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then click the group subject.
- Alternatively, click Menu (or) in the top corner > Group info.
- Alternatively, click Menu (
- Click Group Settings > Send messages.
- Choose to allow All participants or Only Admins to send messages.
- Click CONFIRM.
Participants can message an admin directly by clicking admins in the group, then clicking the admin’s name.
Change group join permissions
- Open the WhatsApp group chat, then click the group subject.
- Alternatively, click Menu (or) in the top corner > Group info.
- Click Group settings.
- Choose to turn on Approve new participants.
- When turned on, admins must approve anyone who wants to join the group.
- When turned off, this group is open for people to join without admin approval.
- Click CONFIRM.
