How to request account information

The request account information feature allows you to submit a request for and export a report of your WhatsApp account information and settings. The report won’t include your messages or information about channels or ads.
  • To access your messages, you can export your chat history instead.
  • To access your channels information, you can request a copy of your channels report. Learn how in this article.
  • To access your ads information, you can request a copy of your ads report. Learn how in this article.
Note: You can’t request account info on WhatsApp for Windows or Mac. Switch to your primary device or WhatsApp Web.

Request report

  1. Click
    Settings (black gear)
    > Account > Request account info.
  2. Click Request account info.
Your report will be available in about three days. Refer to the Ready by date to see the estimated return.

Parents and guardians

Parents and guardians in some regions have certain rights to their minor’s data, such as:
  • The right to access, delete, or correct data, with some exceptions (for example, when we need to protect the safety, security or rights of others).
  • To provide parental or guardian consent on behalf of their minor.
If you are a parent or guardian of a WhatsApp user who is a minor, and you’d like to make a data privacy inquiry or request, please contact us through our privacy form.

Download and export report

When the report is available to download, you'll get a notification that says “Your Account info report is now available”. You have a limited time to download the report before it’s deleted from WhatsApp’s servers. Refer to the Request account info page to see the remaining time.
  1. Click
    Settings (black gear)
    > Account > Request account info.
  2. Click Download report. A ZIP file will be downloaded to your device.
  3. Once the file is downloaded, click Export report > Export report.
This report contains your private information. Be careful about storing, sending, or uploading it to any other services.
Note: Deleting the report won't delete any of your information relating to your activity and use of channels.
