How to make changes to groups

By default, any group participants can change the icon, subject, or description. However, a group admin can change group settings to allow only admins to edit group info. To find out who the admin of a group is, press Options > Group info and look for Group Admin next to the contact’s name.
Change group info
Change the group subject
  1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info > OK.
  2. Select the group subject, then press Edit.
  3. Enter a new subject, then press Save.
    • The subject limit is 100 characters.
Change the group icon
  1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info > OK.
  2. Select the group icon, then press Options.
  3. Press Choose photo and select from Camera or Gallery to add an image.
  4. Press Done.
Change the group description
  1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then press Options > Group info.
  2. Select the group description, then press Edit.
  3. Enter a new description, then press Save.
