About channel admin controls

Channel owners can invite additional channel admins to help manage their channel.
Channel admins can:
  • Change channel info and settings: Admins can change things like the channel name, icon, description and channel settings, like which type of emojis are allowed for reactions to channel admins.
  • Create, edit, and delete channel updates: Updates made by admins are shared immediately, they don’t need the approval of the channel owner. Admins can delete or edit the updates made by themselves, other admins, or the channel owner for up to 30 days after sending. Some channel updates can't be edited, learn more here.
  • See all available channel metrics: Like channel owners, all channel admins have access to available insights like number of followers, top regions, accounts reached and more. Learn more about channel metrics.
Channel owners can take the same actions as admins and can also:
  • Invite and dismiss other channel admins: Other admins can’t add or remove admins.
  • Delete their channel: Only channel owners can choose to delete their channels.
  • Transfer ownership of their channel: Only channel owners can choose to transfer ownership of their channel.
Note: It’s not possible to remove channel followers.
Channel admins are visible to each other. Learn more about safety and privacy as a channel admin.

How to become a channel admin

To become a channel admin, you’ll need to receive and accept an invitation from a channel owner. Becoming a channel admin is voluntary, and you can dismiss yourself at any time. If you don’t want to be an admin, simply ignore the invitation, and it will expire.
