How to report a channel

If you believe Channel content is harmful or violates our policies, you can report the Channel or individual updates.

To report an individual update:

  1. Tap
    Updates (circle within three part speech bubble)
    .
  2. Tap and hold the update.
  3. Tap
    More Options (three vertical dots)
    > Report > Report.
    • Select Unfollow channel if you’d also like to stop receiving updates from this channel.
  4. Tap Close.

To report a channel:

  1. Open the channel.
  2. Tap
    More Options (three vertical dots)
    > Report.
  3. Tap Report.
    • Select Unfollow channel if you’d also like to stop receiving updates from this channel.
  4. Tap Close.
To track the status of reports, tap
More Options (three vertical dots)
> Settings > Help > Channel reports. Reviews in progress are labeled Report in review. Completed reviews are labeled Report reviewed. Tap the report to view WhatsApp’s decision. Report review typically takes 24 hours. No one in the channel will know about this report nor is the admin notified of your request. Once a report is submitted, it can’t be cancelled. If the reported content doesn’t violate our Channels Guidelines, the channel will not be affected. Our Channels Guidelines describe the enforcement actions we may take.
If we take enforcement action against your channel, you can dispute our decision by requesting a review. Learn more about how to request a review for a closed channel.
