About channel ownership

A WhatsApp channel can have one owner at a time. Channel owners can do the same things as admins, but can also:
  • Invite and dismiss other admins.
  • View a list of current and invited admins.
  • Transfer ownership of their channel to an admin.
  • Delete their channel.
Channel owners and admins are responsible for keeping the content on their channel safe, relevant, and age-appropriate for their followers. Learn more in the Channels Guidelines.
