How to download media files on Mac and Windows computers

Until an image is manually downloaded, it won't be saved permanently on your computer.
WhatsApp Desktop operates like any other application. The folder where your files are saved is determined by your settings. Please check your settings for more information.
To download media files:
  1. Click on the media file.
  2. Click the Menu icon.
  3. Click Save to downloads.
Media files that are opened but not downloaded are stored in your cache folder.
