Community owners play an important role in maintaining the health and activity of the community. As a community owner, you can:
- Manage community settings (for example, review who can add groups and members to the community)
- Add or remove members
- Moderate discussions
- Send announcements
- Make sure the community remains active and engaging
- Review pending group requests from members
- Assign other admins to help you manage the community
To manage your community effectively, follow these tips:
- Clean old groups and members regularly to make space for new ones.
- Use announcement groups for important updates.
- Engage with your community members regularly to understand their needs and feedback.
- Establish and communicate clear rules and expectations to ensure a positive and respectful environment.
- Regularly review and update community settings, including group descriptions, admin settings, and privacy options.
Note:
- If the community is no longer relevant or legitimate, you can deactivate it for all members as the community owner. Learn how.
- If you delete your account as a community owner and there are no other admins, the community will be deactivated.
- If you think there's a better owner for the community or if you'd like to leave the community, you can assign ownership to another admin. Learn how to transfer ownership.
