About detecting violations

In order to ensure safe, high-quality conversations on the WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business Platform, it’s important that all businesses and Business Solution Providers understand and follow the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service and WhatsApp Business and Commerce policies. Because WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted, we use information about you from WhatsApp users, information from your business account and registration and other information to identify when a business or Business Solution Provider may be in violation of those policies.

When a user blocks or reports a business or a message from a business

When a business is blocked or reported by a user, WhatsApp receives the last five messages sent to the user by the reported business, the reported group or user ID, information on when the message was sent, and the type of message sent (image, video, text, etc.). Learn more about blocking and reporting users on WhatsApp in this article.

When profile information is submitted or updated

WhatsApp may also conduct reviews using user information to determine whether an account is in violation of the Business or Commerce policies.
For more information about adhering to our policies, read this article.
