How to manage conversation tones

Conversation tones are the sounds played when you send and receive a message.
The volume of conversation tones is controlled by your device's notifications volume. Conversation tones won’t play if your phone is on mute or set to vibrate.

Turn conversation tones on or off

  1. Tap
    more options
    > Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap Conversation tones to toggle tones on or off.

Customize conversation tones

  1. Tap
    more options
    > Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap Notification tone under Messages or Groups.
  4. Select a tone.

Customize conversation tones for an individual or group chat

  1. Open an individual or group chat.
  2. Tap the name of the individual or group.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap Notification tone.
  5. Tap Notification tone.
  6. Select a tone.
