How to use screen lock

As an additional security measure, you can turn on screen lock on WhatsApp Web. When screen lock is turned on, you'll need to enter your password to unlock WhatsApp Web. Your message contents will be secure when the screen is locked. Notifications will not appear when your screen is locked.
Turn screen lock on
- Click above your chats list > Settings.
- Click Privacy.
- Click Screen lock.
- Select Screen lock.
- Enter a strong password of your choice.
- Your password must be between 6-128 characters, and may only contain letters, numbers, and common punctuation.
- You should use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters to set a strong password.
- Click OK.
- Optionally, select the length of time WhatsApp can be on standby mode before screen lock is required. The default selected time is 15 minutes.
Turn screen lock off
- Click above your chats list > Settings.
- Click Privacy.
- Click Screen lock.
- Deselect Screen lock.
- Enter your existing password.
- Click OK.
Lock your screen
You can lock your screen while using WhatsApp Web. You'll need to enter your password to unlock your screen.
- Click above your chats list.
- Click Lock screen.
Alternatively, you can use a keyboard shortcut.
