How to share your WhatsApp Status to other apps

We’re building and testing out new features, like the ability to share status to Instagram, and they may not be available to you yet. In the meantime, we recommend keeping WhatsApp updated on your device so you can get the feature as soon as it's available.
You can share your WhatsApp Status updates to other apps including Facebook and Instagram stories.

Share your status to other apps

  1. Tap the Updates tab and create a status update.
  2. On the Status header, tap My status.
  3. Tap
    more
    next to the status update you'd like to share.
  4. Tap Share... and select the app where you'd like to share your status update.
    • You may be asked to share your status by adding your WhatsApp account to Accounts Center. Tap Continue > Confirm to confirm the accounts you want to add and to choose your automatic sharing settings. Learn more about Accounts Center in this help article.
You can also crosspost your status after sharing by tapping Share to Facebook Story or Share to Instagram Story underneath your status and follow the prompts.
Note:

Set up automatic status to story sharing on Accounts Center

To automatically share every new status you create to Instagram or Facebook stories, you can add your WhatsApp account to Accounts Center. Learn more about WhatsApp in Accounts Center.
  • In Accounts Center, tap Connected experiences, then tap Sharing across profiles.
  • Tap the profile that you'd like to share from, then tap the profile you'd like to share to.
  • Turn Automatically share on or off to start or stop sharing your posts or Stories across the profiles you've selected.
Note: WhatsApp in Accounts Center is rolling out gradually and may not be available to you yet. In the meantime, we recommend keeping WhatsApp updated on your device so you can get the feature as soon as it's available.
