How to archive or unarchive a chat or group

You can hide an individual or group chat from your Chats tab by archiving it.
Archived chats will stay archived when you receive a new message. You can access your archive at the top of the Chats tab.
Archive an individual or group chat
  1. In the Chats tab, tap and hold the chat you want to hide.
  2. Tap
    archive chats
    at the top of the screen.
Archive all chats
  1. In the Chats tab, tap
    more options
    > Settings.
  2. Tap Chats > Chat history > Archive all chats > OK.
View archived individual or group chats
  1. Scroll to the top of the Chats screen.
  2. Tap
    archive chats
    .
Unarchive an individual or group chat
  1. Scroll to the top of the Chats screen.
  2. Tap
    archive chats
    .
  3. Tap and hold the individual or group chat you want to unarchive.
  4. Tap
    unarchive chats
    at the top of the screen.
Alternative archive settings
When you receive a new message in the archived chat, the chat remains archived by default. To unarchive a chat when new messages are received:
  1. In your Chats tab, tap
    more options
    > Settings.
  2. Tap Chats.
  3. Turn off Keep chats archived.
Note:
  • Archiving a chat doesn’t delete the chat or back it up to your SD card.
  • You won't receive notifications for archived chats unless you're mentioned or replied to.
  • An @ symbol shows when someone has replied to or mentioned you in an archived group chat.
  • You can archive a community group chat by tapping a community from either the Chats tab or Communities tab. Then, tap and hold a chat inside the community. Tap Archive chat. You can’t archive a whole community. If you archive all groups within a community, your community will disappear from your Chats tab.
