You can hide an individual or group chat from your Chats tab by archiving it.
By default, archived chats will stay archived when you receive a new message. You can access your archive at the top of the Chats tab.
Archive an individual or group chat
- In the Chats tab, tap and hold the chat you want to hide.
- Tap at the top of the tab.
Archive all chats
- In the Chats tab, tap > Settings.
- Tap Chats > Chat history > Archive all chats > OK.
View archived individual or group chats
- Scroll to the top of the Chats tab.
- Tap Archived.
Unarchive an individual or group chat
You can access your archived chats and decide to unarchive a chat at any time.
- Scroll to the top of the Chats tab.
- Tap Archived.
- Tap and hold the individual or group chat you want to unarchive.
- Tap at the top of the tab.
Alternative archive settings
When you receive a new message in the archived chat, the chat remains archived by default. To automatically unarchive a chat when new messages are received:
- In your Chats tab, tap > Settings.
- Tap Chats.
- Turn off Keep chats archived.
- When Keep chats archived is off, archived chats move to the bottom of the Chats tab. The number next to Archived shows how many chats are in the archive.
Note:
- Archiving a chat doesn’t delete the chat or back it up to your SD card.
- You won't receive notifications for archived chats unless you're mentioned or replied to.
- The number next to Archived shows how many individual or group chats have unread messages.
- An @ symbol shows next to Archived when someone has replied to or mentioned you in an archived group chat.
