More archive settings
To change the default settings so archived chats unarchive when new messages are received:
- Go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats.
- Turn off Keep Chats Archived.
Note:
- Archiving a chat doesn’t delete the chat or back it up to your SD card.
- You won't receive notifications for archived chats unless you're mentioned or replied to.
- Archived individual or group chats will unarchive when you receive a new message from that individual or group chat unless Keep Chats Archived is turned on.
- An @ symbol shows when someone has replied to or mentioned you in an archived group chat.
