For security reasons, we can't send your code via email or any method other than an SMS message or phone call. We can only send a registration code through email if you’re re-registering your phone number and you’ve already added your email address to your account in your WhatsApp settings, during your initial registration, or during two-step verification setup.
If you didn't receive the 6-digit code by SMS
- Make sure you’ve entered your full international phone number, including the country code. Remove any leading zeros (0s) or exit codes from your number. An example of a US phone number is: + 1 408 XXX-XXXX.
- Wait for the progress bar to finish and retry. The wait might take up to 10 minutes.
- Don't guess the code, or you’ll be locked out for a period of time.
- If the timer runs out before you receive the code, an option will appear to request a phone call. Choose the Call me option to request the call. When you answer the call, an automated voice will tell you the 6-digit code. Insert this code to verify WhatsApp.
If you have issues registering, try:
- Making sure you’re using the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone.
- Making sure you meet all of the requirements when you register your phone number.
- Turning off your phone, wait 30 seconds, and turning it back on.
- Deleting and reinstalling the latest version of WhatsApp.
- Checking your reception by sending an SMS message from any phone to your phone number. Make sure you’re sending it to the same phone number you entered in WhatsApp, including the country code.
