About voice update transcripts on Whatsapp Channels

You can get text versions of voice updates on WhatsApp Channels for easy access by turning on voice transcripts.
Voice transcripts are off by default. Enable transcripts on your device to use it. Once enabled, you can read voice transcripts for both channel updates and personal voice messages. Learn more about voice transcripts for personal messages.

Turn voice update transcripts on or off
- Tap > Settings > Chats.
- Turn Voice message transcripts on or off.
- When you turn on Voice message transcripts, select your Transcript Language.
Alternatively, you can turn on voice update transcripts when you receive a voice update in one of your channels.
- Go to the voice update.
- Tap Get Started > Choose language.
- Select your Transcript language.
- Choose Set up now or Wait for Wi-Fi to download your language.
Note:
- Voice update transcripts are disabled by default.
- Currently supported languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and Hindi.
How to see voice update transcripts
- Turn on Voice message transcripts.
- Go to the voice update.
- Tap to reveal more of the transcription.
Note: Your transcript might take a moment to process.
Some voice update transcripts might be inaccurate. If you receive a “Transcript unavailable” error, it might be because:
- Your transcript language doesn’t match the language of the voice update.
- Some words aren’t recognized, possibly due to background noise.
- The voice message language isn't supported.
