About Shops integration with the WhatsApp Business app
WhatsApp is determined to provide business users with commerce tools that help them grow their businesses. Over the years, we’ve learned that businesses need focused solutions to help them showcase their goods and services.
Business users are no longer able to display their Shops storefront on the WhatsApp Business app. Moving forward, the catalog tool on the WhatsApp Business app will be our default commerce tool. This change will not impact your Shops storefront on Facebook or Instagram. You have the option to drive people interested in your Facebook shop to connect with you on WhatsApp.
Setting up a catalog
To make this transition as seamless as possible, we recommend setting up a catalog.
Users who had a catalog before integrating with Shops storefront
Setting your Shops storefront visibility to Hidden returns your WhatsApp catalog to when you began using the Shops storefront integration. Any items added to your storefront after turning on the integration won’t be migrated to the WhatsApp Business app. Learn how to change your Shops storefront visibility settings in the “Remove your shop on WhatsApp” section of this article.
Note: Setting your Shops storefront visibility to Hidden is non-reversible. Once you’ve hidden your storefront, none of your storefront items will be available in WhatsApp.
Users who didn't have a catalog before integrating with Shops storefront
Your storefront won’t be migrated to the WhatsApp Business app if you didn’t have a catalog before Shops storefront integration. To continue showcasing your products and services on WhatsApp, we recommend creating a catalog on WhatsApp. Learn how to create and maintain a catalog in this article.
