How to forward and reshare status updates

Note: Resharing someone’s status is a new feature we’re building and testing out and may not be available to you yet. In the meantime, we recommend keeping WhatsApp updated on your device so you can get the feature as soon as it's available.
You can forward or reshare statuses to share them with more people.
Forward your status
You can forward your own status or someone else's status if they allow resharing. Forwarded statuses are sent as WhatsApp messages.
- Tap Updates > Select either your status or a status that includes .
- Tap the status > > Forward.
- Select or search for contacts.
- Tap .
If you’re mentioned in someone else’s status, you can reshare the status content as your own.
To reshare a status that mentions you:
- Tap the status.
- Tap Add to status.
- Edit the status.
- Tap .
You can reshare someone’s status if they’ve allowed status sharing. When you reshare a status, the person who created it will be notified and see your version only if they're in your selected audience.
To reshare a shareable status:
- Tap the status.
- Tap .
- Edit the status.
- Tap .
Note:
- When you reshare a status, only the status content is shared. Information about the person you reshared from, such as their name, phone number, or profile photo, isn’t included.
- Reshared statuses are labeled "Reshared” or “Reshared from a mention.”
- If a status is reshared five or more times, it’s labeled as "Reshared many times."
- If the status has music, you might be unable to reshare it.
