How to set up business AI

Business AI is an artificial intelligence (AI) service from Meta for businesses. Businesses on WhatsApp can use business AI to enhance parts of their conversations with customers who choose to use AI from Meta.
To set up business AI on the WhatsApp Business app:
  1. From the Tools tab, tap Business AI.
  2. Tap Continue.
  3. Tap Accept.
  4. Provide business AI with basic information about your business to help it answer questions from customers on your behalf.
    • Business name
    • Business description
    • Address
    • Email
    • Phone number
    When you're done, tap Finish.
  5. Provide business AI with additional information about your business to help it answer questions from customers on your behalf.
    • Your best selling products
    • Payment methods you accept
    • Your store hours
    • Shipping or delivery details
    • Your return policy
    • How or where to purchase
    • Discounts you offer
    • Other policies or details
    When you're done, tap Continue.
  6. Choose which chats business AI should respond to customers in.
    • Chats that start from an ad: Business AI will respond in all chats created when a customer engages with one of your business's Facebook or Instagram ads.
    • All chats between you and one other person: Business AI will respond in all chats between your business and one other person.
    • Choose for each chat whether to use AI replies: Business AI will only respond in specific chats of your choosing.
  7. Choose when business AI should respond to customers.
    • Any time: Business AI will respond to messages received in selected chats at any time.
    • Only at times I select: Business AI will only respond to messages received in selected chats at specified times.
  8. Tap Continue.
  9. Add information about frequently asked questions. When you're done, tap Finish.
    • Note: Business AI may take several minutes to become active in chats.

Turn on business AI in individual chats

Android

  1. Open the desired chat.
  2. Tap
    > AI replies.
  3. Tap Turn on.

iOS

  1. Open the desired chat.
  2. Tap the customer's name.
  3. Tap AI replies.
  4. Tap Turn on.

Turn on business AI using Meta Business Suite

Businesses can also turn on business AI using Meta Business Suite. To learn how, view this article. Once you have completed the steps, you should receive a message from Facebook Business Account on the WhatsApp Business app.
  1. Open the message, then tap Scan QR code.
  2. Using your phone's camera, scan the QR code you received from Meta Business Suite.
  3. Finish setting up business AI on Meta Business Suite.
