How to set up your Protected business accounts for Meta Verified for businesses on WhatsApp

Android
iOS
The Protected business accounts premium benefit allows users with Meta Verified Business Premium and Meta Verified Business Max subscriptions to identify WhatsApp accounts associated with their business. This helps protect associated accounts from being falsely banned for impersonating your business. If you’d like to subscribe to Meta Verified for businesses on WhatsApp but have multiple accounts associated with your business, add those accounts to the Protected business accounts list in your primary account on WhatsApp Business before purchasing a subscription.
The number of Protected business accounts you can have depends upon your subscription plans:
  • Business Premium: Up to 10 Protected business accounts
  • Business Max: Up to 50 Protected business accounts
Note: Not all subscription plans include this benefit.

Add Protected business accounts

  1. Using your primary WhatsApp Business account, go to WhatsApp Business Tools > Meta Verified.
  2. Tap Protected business accounts.
  3. Tap Select business account. This will generate a list of your business contacts that aren’t already on your Protected business accounts list.
  4. From the list, select the accounts you’d like to add as Protected business accounts. Tap
    search
to search for a specific account.
    • Note: If you try to add an account that you’ve blocked as a protected business account, you will have to unblock the account first. If prompted, tap Unblock.
  5. Once you’ve selected the accounts you’d like to add as Protected business accounts, tap
    back
to return to the Protected business accounts list, which should now include the accounts you selected.
Additionally, while a Protected business account is associated with a verified business account, that account will not receive its own verified badge unless that account is also subscribed to Meta Verified.
